Video: ECHL’s Elmira Jackals would like to ruin your holidays
We all have our holiday traditions. "A Christmas Story" marathons. Taking photos of pets as reindeer or moose. Throwing snowballs at the elderly.
The ECHL Elmira Jackals are no exception, although we wish they were, seeing as how their annual player-sung Christmas carols bestow glad tidings and bleeding ears to you and your kin.

On December 20, the ECHL’s Elmira Jackals will present "Christmas CD" night during their game against the Johnstown Chiefs. Attendees at the game will receive a Christmas CD of Jackals players singing Christmas carols. Yes, residents of the Twin Tiers and Southwestern New York, you can celebrate the holidays by being serenaded by ECHL players such as twin forwards Justin and Tyler Donati(notes) and minor league hockey journeyman Olivier Proulx (Look at his Hockey Database profile. Journeyman might be too mild of a term.)
Previously, the Jackals have murdered "Joy To The World" and appeared in public wearing holiday-themed jerseys for what appears to have been some sort of Christmas in July promotion, according to the YouTube date stamp. Kat pointed to a new preview video the Jackals have released in anticipation of their 2009 holiday opus and … well, when a boy band can’t even harmonize their greeting to viewers, it’s going to be a long rehearsal:
The hats … they do nothing. While it doesn’t rise to the holiday cheer of Tarzan, Tonto and Frankenstein on ‘SNL’ or the puppet lovechild of Groundskeeper Willy and a traffic cone singing Elton John’s "Step Into Christmas" … well, what does, really?
