• Cleveland Browns wide receiver Braylon
Edwards says that drops are "just part of football." Well, they
certainly are when he’s playing. He dropped a touchdown pass from Brady Quinn in
the preseason opener. And then he
took a Twitter-beating for it.
• The NFL’s
getting some super-slow motion cameras, Time
Warp style. The fourth and fifth videos down are a coincidence and are in no
way related to Michael Vick.
• The
Arizona Cardinals went to the movies yesterday morning, with the players
having their choice between "The Ugly Truth,"
"Funny People," "District 9" and
"G.I. Joe." Ken
Whisenhunt didn’t like "District 9," which puts him squarely at odds
with most of the people I follow on Twitter. I’d be extremely curious to know
which Cardinals voluntarily chose to see Katherine Heigl vehicle "The Ugly Truth."
• The New York Daily News says the
Jets are looking to trade for either Brandon Marshall or Dwayne Bowe. Both
seem highly unlikely to me.
• The ratings
for the Michael Vick interview on "60 Minutes" were pretty strong,
making the show the 2nd-most viewed television show of the week.
• A take on the
NFL’s new Affliction-esque t-shirts. I don’t appreciate the shot at
NFL-themed Crocs, but I’m willing to put that aside for the moment.
• And finally, here’s this gentleman singing his heart out about the
Vikings. I have to attach a naughty-language warning to it, but it’s nothing too
bad. It’s a catchy little
tune that Vikings fans will enjoy, and Packers fans will pelt with vicious
comments in the YouTube comments.
